More than 100 Scheduled to Attend CACI’s Fundraising Reception Tuesday, August 31st, to Meet Legislative Candidates Competing in Key Races

More than 100 people are scheduled to attend CACI’s fundraising reception, to be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 31st, at the Westin Tabor Center, to raise money for CACI’s small-donor committee to support a small number of pro-business legislative candidates running in critical “swing” districts.

There is no charge for admission to the reception.  To RSVP for the reception, contact Christine Gavin at 303.866.9628 or via e-mail.

The Event Sponsor of the reception is Intrado.

The CACI reception will be held in the Augusta Room at The Westin Tabor Center, which is the Host Sponsor.

These important legislative races—less than ten in number—will likely determine whether or not the 2011 and 2012 session of the Colorado General Assembly will be “business friendly,” or a replay of the fractious session earlier this year that was undoubtedly the most difficult for the business community in recent memory.

CACI members who attend the reception will meet most of the candidates running in these important races.  CACI will provide financial support for these candidates from both its political-action committee and its small-donor committee.

CACI encourages its members to contribute $50 in advance to CACI’s small-donor committee, The CACI Prosperity Fund, or bring a personal check for that amount made out to the Fund to the event.  To help support CACI’s small-donor committee, please click now on the Donate button below to allow you the convenience of making a secure, on-line contribution of $50.

The 2010 general election will be held November 2nd, and business-friendly legislative candidates need your support now.

NOTE: For those who have contributed either to CACI’s Colorado Business Political Action Committee or to The CACI Prosperity Fund, there will be drawings for several door prizes, including two Southwest Airlines tickets and Outback Steakhouse gift certificates.  You must be present to win.  Tricia Smith, CACI Director of Events and Programs, will have a master list and will have you checked off to participate in the drawings.

Support CACI’s Endorsed State Legislative Candidates

CACI’s list of 56 state legislative candidates, which it has endorsed for election in November, can be found on the CACI Web site.  Since the legislative session adjourned in early May, CACI has been working hard to ensure that a “business-friendly” legislature convenes next January.

The list includes 36 incumbents and 20 new candidates running for seats in the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Senate.

If you live in the district of one of these candidates, or if your business is located in a candidate’s district, please consider giving a personal contribution of up to $400 to the candidate.  You can usually locate a candidate’s Web site by simply Googling the candidate’s name.

In addition, to determine in which Senate and House districts you reside and work, visit The Colorado Prosperity Project page on the CACI Web site.
